The Veterans' Arts & Wellness Channel is sponsored by the Veterans Suicide Prevention Channel (VSPChannel) who operates a channel on their website located at http://www.vspchannel.vet. The success of the website channel has led to this iteration of the VSPChannels evolution. The VSPChannel was officially founded on January 16, 2015, as a nonprofit 501c3 organization, all donations are tax-deductible. The channel seeks to create a source of treatment, entertainment, and information for veterans and military personnel that will be accessible to them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is our belief that by providing this service we can begin to decrease the number of veterans and their family members who commit suicide. The VSPChannel has already reportedly prevented some suicides. It is not a requirement that the VSPChannel report its effect however veterans to leave messages with us from time to time attesting to the power of the channel. The VSPChannel created the Austin Veteran Arts Festival (AVAFST) in 2018. The festival was embraced by the city of Austin, Texas. Now it will AVAFEST Festival will have a home on the VETERANS' ARTS & WELLNESS NETWORK. We will post segments of the first 2 festivals held in 2018 and 2019, and will broadcast many of the future AVAFEST festivals in the future. Veterans organizations and all veterans are eligible to submit an idea for a show. Contact Glenn Towery [email protected]
