WGN-TV+ is Chicago's Very Own news and streaming video service for smart TV platforms, including Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire. In addition to regularly scheduled live newscasts and other WGN programing, the app features live breaking news and in-depth coverage, clips of the day's top videos, a browsable archive and other WGN-TV+ exclusives. WGN-TV, whose call letters are derived from the Chicago Tribune’s first slogan, “World’s Greatest Newspaper,” hit the airwaves on April 5, 1948 on Channel 9 in Chicago from its studios at Tribune Tower. WGN has been home to many legends, such as Phil Donahue, Bozo the Clown, and Tom Skilling.
